Softlogic Life, Sri Lanka’s largest health insurer, hosted the inaugural “7 Club Swing” golf stableford tournament on 17 October 2026 at the Royal Colombo Golf Club. The event marked two firsts: the first time an insurer in Sri Lanka has taken on golf, and the first time the seven-club format has been introduced to the country. A select group of valued customers and corporate partners came together for a day of competition, camaraderie and a shared passion for the game.

The tournament opens a new chapter in Softlogic Life’s approach to customer engagement and extends its long-standing ‘Honda Leda’ philosophy. Through ‘Honda Leda’, or “good sicknesses”, the brand has consistently encouraged Sri Lankans to pursue passions that support physical and emotional wellbeing, and more recently has reinforced that age should never stand in the way of one’s ‘Honda Leda’.

Golf was a natural expression of that thinking. It is played and enjoyed across generations and combines fitness, strategy, focus, competition and social connections. With the 7 Club Swing, Softlogic Life set out to inspire people to pursue a passion they can enjoy at every stage of life, and to build strong connections on and off the course. The seven-club structure asks players to complete their round with half the standard set of clubs allowed in the bag. It rewards creativity, shot-making and adaptability over equipment, which makes the game engaging for players of every age and skill level. The tournament was held at the Royal Colombo Golf Club, an institution whose history stretches back to the beginnings of organised golf in Sri Lanka.

Commenting on the initiative, Iftikar Ahamed, Managing Director of Softlogic Life, said, “Insurance is ultimately about enabling people to live the best quality of life and pursue the life they aspire to. That belief extends beyond providing protection. It also means understanding what our customers value and creating meaningful opportunities to connect with them around those interests. The 7 Club Swing brings that philosophy to life by celebrating a passion that transcends generations, while giving us an opportunity to strengthen relationships with customers and partners in a setting that is engaging, personal and memorable.”

The experience extended beyond the course, with online games and digital engagement activities building excitement and encouraging participation around the tournament. Following the day’s competition, golfers and guests came together for an afternoon of great vibes, music and networking, creating further opportunities to connect in a relaxed setting. Staying true to its promises, Softlogic Life ensured at the vibrant awards ceremony that almost every customer who took part walked away with something in hand. More than 40 gifts and surprises were presented throughout the day, including seven air tickets to Melbourne, Hanoi, Dubai, Delhi, Kulalampur, HongKong and Singapore, a Samsung S26, hotel stays and dining experiences. A Hole-in-One Challenge raised the stakes further, with a Ranger vehicle sponsored by Allianz offered as the grand prize.

Piyumal Wickramasinghe, EVP/Chief Distribution Officer – Alternate Channel of Softlogic Life, said, “Golf gives us a great setting to spend time with our customers and partners outside the usual business environment. As Sri Lanka’s leader in global, local and corporate health insurance, we partner with many of the country’s leading organisations to protect their people. Being with Softlogic Life means more than access to world-class healthcare. It means access to a global lifestyle. The 7 Club Swing is an expression of that promise: bringing people together around a shared passion, enjoying the day and strengthening the relationships we have built over time. For us, that personal connection is just as important as the solutions we provide.”

For Softlogic Life, The 7 Club Swing reflects an approach to customer relationships that goes beyond conventional insurance interactions. By creating experiences around the passions its customers actively pursue, the Company aims to build connections that are more personal, relevant and enduring, and to show that staying active and doing what one loves remain central to living well at every stage of life.
