Reinforcing its commitment to advancing measurable production standards across Sri Lanka’s poultry value chain, G P Farms Lanka Limited, which is a joint-venture between Bairaha Farms PLC and Crysbro group, recently conducted a two-day technical workshop/seminar in collaboration with global breeding leader Cobb Vantress.
The programme brought together technical specialists from Cobb Vantress operations in the Philippines, Thailand and Indonesia to provide guidance on optimising broiler parent breeder performance through improved genetic selection and disciplined farm management practices.
Notably, key areas covered included flock management and nutrition which are critical to improving productivity and cost efficiency in broiler breeding and broiler day-old chick production.
Commenting on the programme, Managing Director/CEO of Bairaha Farms PLC Yakooth Naleem stated, “Sri Lanka’s poultry industry must continuously strengthen technical capability and performance discipline to remain competitive and resilient.

The first day’s session was conducted for the management and technical teams of Fortune G P Farms Lanka Limited, Bairaha Farms PLC and Crysbro Group. The second day participation was dedicated to existing and prospective customers of Cobb broiler parent breeder chicks and poultry consultants, creating a wider industry platform for knowledge exchange and sharing.
Conducted in an interactive format, the sessions enabled participants to discuss operational challenges and benchmark local practices against global standards, reinforcing the importance of measurable performance management within the sector.
